PERSONAL INJURY PROTECTION (PIP) COVERAGE:
PIP is more common in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. PIP is available to pay for care regardless of who is responsible for causing the auto accident.
It is usually written in amounts of $2,500 $5,000 or $10,000. While it may be waived while purchasing auto insurance, most patients elect to carry $2,500 in PIP.

ATTORNEY LIEN:

Upon termination of care your attorney will be provided with all of your medical records and bills at which point they will negotiate a settlement and/or file suit with the insurance company. Generally your attorney deals with all of the paperwork and communications with the other driver’s insurance company while you focus on treatment and recovery.
